Jeonnam Province announced that it will hold abalone utilization product school meal tasting events for 15,000 students from 20 elementary, middle, and high schools within and outside the province until November to expand local seafood consumption, stabilize fishermen's income, and secure a future generation seafood consumption base. The school meal tasting events aim to resolve the management crisis of abalone aquaculture households due to falling prices and sluggish consumption at the production sites and to secure a future generation consumer base for increasing fixed consumption. During the event, Jeonnam Province will provide three types of abalone utilization products (abalone seaweed nutritional rice, abalone skewered fish cake, and sliced abalone) that students prefer as school meals to promote the excellence of abalone.
