Over 165 thousand tons of pollock have been caught by enterprises in Primorye, Russia, due to the closure of Chinese ports. The fisheries agency reported the extraction of 213.4 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources as of March 15, with most being pollock. The majority of the pollock catch will be harvested by April. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coastal fishermen have reduced their catch by 45 thousand tons compared to last year, seeking new markets in Japan, South Korea, and Germany.
