Investment by cattle ranchers in bovine genetics grew by 11.7% in the third quarter of 2025, to 8.3 million doses, compared to the same period in 2024. The data is part of the Asbia Index, released by the Brazilian Association of Artificial Insemination (Asbia), based on a survey by the Center for Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), from Esalq/USP. In beef cattle, sales of genetic material totaled 6.6 million doses between July and September, an increase of 11.5% from the 5.9 million doses in the third quarter of the previous year. For dairy cattle, the increase was 12.4%, to 1.7 million doses, up from 1.5 million in the same period of 2024. National semen production reached 6.9 million doses in the quarter, an advance of 29.6% compared to the 5.3 million doses produced a year earlier.
