A recent study by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce forecasts an increase in Brazilian soybean exports to Arab countries due to their growing animal protein production, particularly in cattle breeding. The first quarter of 2021 saw revenue from these exports reaching US $ 157 million, with Saudi Arabia and Iran being the main importers. The progress of Covid-19 vaccination in Arab countries is expected to boost exports further. However, for the market to expand, Brazilian industries and producers need to comply with Islamic jurisprudence requirements, including halal certification. With the anticipation of reaching 85.6 million tons of soybeans exported by the end of the year, Brazil's soy exports hit a new high in April, showing a 17% increase compared to the same month last year.
