Spain has sent a new emergency vaccination plan against contagious nodular dermatosis to the European Commission in order to vaccinate around 456,000 cattle from 2,849 farms in fifteen counties in Catalonia and three Aragonese counties.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has informed of this new plan discussed this Tuesday in the Committee of the Spanish Veterinary Health Alert Network (RASVE).
Spain wants to vaccinate 369,323 animals from 2,164 Catalan farms and 86,386 cattle from 685 Aragonese farms.
The Department has detailed that there are enough vaccines to implement this new plan thanks to emergency purchases worth 660,000 euros, which was approved this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers.
The Ministry hopes that the EC will respond "in the next few hours or days," and they are confident that it will be in a favorable sense, as indicated by the Director General of Sa... in a telematic informational meeting.
