A special inspection will be conducted from the 11th to April 12th on the country of origin labeling of imported marine products in over 2,500 companies. The inspection, focusing on items like live red snapper, live scallops, and refrigerated pollack, will be carried out jointly with the Korea Coast Guard. Violations, including false indication or failure to indicate the country of origin, could result in fines or imprisonment. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has urged merchants to comply with country of origin labeling.
