Support for agriculture remains high, but it has decreased in relation to the value of production.

The OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) has published its annual report on support for the agricultural sector. It notes that support in the 54 countries covered by the study averaged 842 billion dollars annually during the period 2022-2024, which represents an increase of almost 20% compared to the average of the period 2015-2019, just before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the organization emphasizes that, given the rapid growth of agricultural production in those years, the aid represented a smaller percentage of the value of that production. Specifically, according to the report, in the period 2022-24, support for agriculture represented 14% of the value of agricultural production, compared to 17% for the period 2017-19 and 27% at the beginning of the century.
