Support for sumac sapling producers from Konya Metropolitan Municipality

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they are working to strengthen sustainability in agricultural production and to contribute to producers in accessing new income sources in Konya, one of the most important agricultural production centers in Turkey. Facilitating farmers with 75 percent grant support Mayor Altay noted that in addition to other supports, sumac support has continued this year for Konya producers, stating, "We diversify the support we provide to our farmers each year for the production of high-value, drought-resistant agricultural products. Sumac is a valuable medicinal-aromatic plant that can be grown in water-restricted and sloping lands, providing serious income to the producer. In 2024, we provided support for 5,720 sumac saplings in 13 districts. For 2025, we increased this amount to 6,370 saplings in 19 districts.
