In the early months of 2023, Brazil has experienced a notable surge in poultry exports, with volumes increasing by 10.6% to 800,100 tonnes and revenue growing by 24.5% to US$1.593 billion compared to the same period last year. China emerges as the primary market, importing 23.2% more poultry than last year, closely followed by Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Japan, and the European Union, which have also increased their purchases. This growth contrasts with the avian influenza outbreaks experienced by many South American countries, with the exception of Brazil, Paraguay, Guyana, and Suriname. Brazil's success in poultry exports despite these outbreaks highlights its resilience and the growing demand for its poultry products in the international market.
