The Regional Directorate of Agriculture Tacna (DRAT), through the Olivo Project, incorporated five atomizing pump trucks that will improve the tasks of fumigation, washing, and phytosanitary control in the 13 demonstration plots located in La Yarada Los Palos, Sama, Magollo, and Bajo Caplina. These machines, which replace the old sprayers, will allow for a reduction in the use of pesticides, cover larger areas, and optimize production costs, increasing the efficiency of technical work in the field. The technical file of the Olivo Project also includes the acquisition of three wood chippers, which will be delivered in December, for shredding pruning and weed residues and producing organic fertilizers, in addition to five agricultural tractors that will arrive next year, thus strengthening the mechanization and sustainability of the olive sector.
