Tajikistan has seen a significant recovery in its grape harvest, with a total of 92.5 thousand tons harvested by October 14, 2024, a substantial increase from the previous year following cold damage that destroyed many plantations. The country has planted and restored vineyards across 32.5 hectares, contributing to a production volume that is 11 times higher than the same period in the previous year. This recovery is part of a larger government initiative, the 'Program for the Development of Horticulture, Viticulture and Citrus Growing in Tajikistan for 2025-2029', aimed at boosting production, providing fresh produce for the population, increasing export potential, and reducing reliance on imports.
