The Vão do Paranã Irrigated Fruit Farming Project, a venture by the State Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) of Goiás, is revolutionizing mango and passion fruit farming in the region by introducing technological innovations. This initiative, led by Codevasf and Embrapa Cerrados, includes the installation of weather stations and the development of a dedicated application, supported by the Government of Goiás and Codevasf. The weather stations, already in use in Flores de Goiás, provide crucial data for optimal crop irrigation, leading to reduced water and energy consumption. The application, soon to be available to producers, will offer real-time information, aiming to boost productivity and sustainability. The project, which started in December 2023, is projected to yield 4,200 tons of passion fruit and 6,000 tons of mangoes annually, contributing to job creation and economic development in the Northeast of Goiás.
