Mexico: Tequila exports continue with a positive streak

During the first six months of 2022, the tequila agribusiness shows considerable growth compared to the first half of 2021. According to figures from the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), the production, export and consumption of agave increased by 21.1%, 29.5 %, and 30.7% respectively. The total production carried out by the 174 authorized producers reached 315.1 million liters in the January-June period of this year, while last year in its first semester 260 million liters of tequila had been produced. Of the total produced in 2022, 75% was 100% agave tequila (234.7 million liters). Regarding exports, this reached 202.7 million liters, of which 148.7 million correspond to Tequila bottled from origin.
