The avian flu epidemic is spreading rapidly in Hungary

According to Nébih, the Hungarian authority in charge of the health safety of the food chain, there were 37 declarations of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza outbreaks declared between Tuesday November 7 and Friday November 24. Of these 37 cases, 7 are considered primary outbreaks. Two distinct areas are affected, one east of Budapest below the Slovak border, the other southeast of the capital going towards Romania. The outbreaks mainly concern farms (only 3 farmyards) housing a variety of products (flesh and fattening palmipeds, laying hens, meat chicken and turkey).
