The bill on the second stage of irrigation reform has passed the agricultural committee.

The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agrarian and Land Policy recommended to the parliament to adopt in the second reading and as a whole the draft law "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts Regarding the Improvement of the Management System of Objects of Engineering Infrastructure of Irrigation Systems of State Ownership" (No. 7577). This is reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada. It is noted that the changes proposed in the draft are aimed at reforming state management in the field of hydraulic reclamation and introducing a modern model of water management in Ukraine. The document provides for the separation of the function of water resources management from the function of managing the infrastructure of reclamation systems and providing services (principles of the Irrigation and Drainage Strategy).
