Bulgarian minister Giorgiy Takhov has proposed increasing the minimum individual aid to farmers from the European Commission from 50,000 euros to 30,000 euros to 20,000 euros, citing the need to address the influx of cheap Ukrainian eggs into the Bulgarian market. Ukrainian egg exports to Bulgaria have surged fivefold in the first half of the year, reaching 2,618 tons. The European Commission has limited imports of certain products from Ukraine, including cereals, honey, and eggs, due to concerns about market distortion. Other countries, including Germany, have also sought to increase farm aid, but without success so far.
