The Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) has launched a comprehensive recovery project for the La Muela Reservoir, located in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, with the aim of restoring its regulatory function within the Tajo-Segura post-diversion system. The intervention seeks to restore full operability to this hydraulic infrastructure and optimize water management. The total budget for the work amounts to 6,595,240.49 euros, and the completion of the works is expected to take place in October 2026. The president of the CHS, Mario Urrea, visited the works that will carry out the recovery of the integral project of stabilization, recovery, and adaptation of the reservoir basin. Currently, the La Muela Reservoir is inoperative.
