(Jeongseon=Yonhap News) Reporter Park Young-seo = The 2025 Jeongseon Apple Festival, held in the Imgye-myeon area of Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province, from August 8 to 9, concluded successfully.
At the festival, various events unfolded, including apple sales booths, apple picking experiences, local food lectures, apple and potato variety exhibitions, and diverse experiential activities, which were well-received by tourists.
On the first day of the festival, all 28 apple sales booths sold out early, indicating the high popularity of the event.
Held to coincide with the harvest season of the Busa variety, known for its excellent storage ability and rich sweetness, the festival allowed tourists to taste and purchase fresh apples at a price about 30% lower than the market price, increasing satisfaction.
Cultivated in the clean highland areas over 500 meters above sea level, Jeongseon apples are nationally recognized for their firm flesh, high sugar content, and crisp texture.
The festival was attended by approximately 10,000 people, including local farmers, residents, and tourists.
Hae Hyung-gil, Chairman of the Jeongseon Apple Festival Committee, said, "We will continue to strive to enhance the brand image of Jeongseon apples and increase the income of local farmers."
