The cessation of prolonged rainfall in Ukraine has allowed for the acceleration of sunflower and soybean harvesting, but due to high humidity and the efforts of farmers to prioritize sunflower harvesting, the collection of corn is slow, which continues to delay port shipments and maintains high purchase prices. As of October 16, 4.913 million tons of corn have been harvested from 21% of the area (+6% over the week) or 895 thousand hectares in Ukraine, with a yield of 5.49 t/ha, although at this time last year, 13.2 million tons were harvested from 59% of the area with a yield of 5.5 t/ha.
