A recent report has highlighted a significant decline in the supply of fish and seafood at the central market in Mercasevilla, with a two-thirds reduction to 59.2 tons compared to the previous day. This shortfall has been attributed to the ongoing mooring of fishing fleets. Despite these challenges, fishmongers are resiliently maintaining operations by sourcing fish from other coasts, including Portugal, Levante, Castellón, and Italy. Meanwhile, the supply of fruits and vegetables remains robust. Javi and Sofi, from the Pino Montano gastronomic fishmonger, have pointed out that the markup on fish prices is minimal and criticized the perception that fishmongers are selling expensive goods. The market has seen an influx of 268 vehicles from markets and 3,451 from retailers, showing signs of recovery in other sectors. However, the report also notes a notable absence of certain southern waters' produce, including clams and lane clams.
