The European Commission has lifted restrictions on the movement of livestock in certain areas of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain due to positive progress in controlling sheep and goat pox. No new cases of the disease have been reported since May 17th thanks to strict measures implemented by animal health services and the collaboration of farmers and veterinarians. The European Commission has also allowed the movement of animals from the restricted area to free zones for slaughter and production farms, with certain conditions until September 25th.
