A significant milestone has been reached in agricultural trade relations between Vietnam and China, with the export of sweet potatoes from Vinh Long province to China officially commencement on April 19, following the signing of a protocol in November 2022. This achievement marks the beginning of exports from Vietnam to the Chinese market, with Vinh Long's sweet potato production being the first to meet China's stringent phytosanitary standards. The ceremony to launch the exports was held in Binh Tan district, reflecting the province's focus on improving agricultural practices and adopting advanced technologies to enhance product quality and efficiency. The protocol allows for 27 growing area codes and three packers from Vinh Long to export to China, heralding a new chapter in agricultural trade between the two countries.
