The first crop of beans shows partial recovery in Rio Grande do Sul.

The rains recorded on December 8 allowed the resumption of the planting of the first-crop beans in Rio Grande do Sul, according to the Conjunctural Bulletin released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (18). Despite this, the operation remains incipient in the Campos de Cima da Serra, the main producing region of the first crop in the State. In other regions, the recovery of soil moisture has favored the recovery of the crops, although part of them already records irreversible losses in productivity and quality of the grains due to the prolonged period without precipitation. According to Emater/RS-Ascar, the climatic adversities caused flower abortion and dropping of forming pods, especially in crops that were entering the reproductive phase. The phytosanitary situation is considered satisfactory, however the dry weather favored the increase of mite incidence in some crops, requiring chemical control.
