Despite challenges such as high prices, logistics issues, slow technological advancements, and a 'yellow card' warning from the European Commission, Vietnam's fisheries industry saw a 2.7% increase in seafood output in the first half of 2024, reaching 4.385 million tons. The industry also experienced a 4.9% increase in export turnover, generating 4.355 billion USD. However, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien highlighted shortcomings in environmental monitoring, product preservation, and the lack of full funding for some tasks. The industry aims to further increase output and export turnover in the second half of 2024.
