The global climate impact due to Russia's aggression has resulted in $43 billion in damages.

Over three years of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the volume of greenhouse gas emissions caused by combat actions, infrastructure destruction, fires, and other war-related factors reached nearly 237 million tons of CO₂ equivalent. This is stated in the fifth report of the Initiative on Accounting for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Due to War, prepared with the support of the NGO Ecoaction and in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine. Experts estimate that this volume corresponds to the annual emissions of Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia combined, and the climate damage from the war exceeds $43 billion (calculated at $185 per ton of CO₂ equivalent).
