Global onion prices are reaching record levels due to a combination of climatic conditions and area reductions in Europe, leading to a 13.4% decrease in the European harvest. Additionally, export restrictions in South and Central America, Pakistan, and Morocco, as well as damage to New Zealand's onion harvest from cyclones, have further limited the global supply. As a result, prices have increased in several European countries, Egypt, and South Africa, while the Netherlands market has stabilized at a high level. In contrast, North America has an abundant onion supply but weak demand, keeping prices low.
