Russia and the United States plan to increase pollock fishing quotas in 2024, bringing the total global quota to almost 4 million tons. Russia's quota is set to increase by 200,000 tons, with the largest increase in the Western Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk. The pollock population in Russia is expected to remain stable in 2025/26, but quota completion this year is uncertain. The United States also slightly raised its pollock quotas, with the total global pollock quota in 2024 expected to be around 400,000 tons.
