The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation spoke about state support for the dairy industry and the expansion of exports

The fourteenth congress of the National Union of Milk Producers saw the participation of Dmitry Patrushev, the Minister of Agriculture, who discussed the state of the dairy industry and the government's support measures. In 2022, Russia's agricultural sector experienced growth, with the dairy industry contributing significantly to this improvement. The country saw the modernization of over 200 farms and achieved raw milk production of more than 32.6 million tons. For 2023, the government anticipates further growth and the creation of 60,000 new cattle stations. The Ministry of Agriculture is set to increase its financial support for the dairy industry, introducing a 'stimulus' subsidy and expanding the CAPEKS compensation areas. The main objectives for the sector include achieving a 90% self-sufficiency rate, increasing import independence, particularly in breeding products, and enhancing dairy exports, with a focus on expanding to new markets like China, the Persian Gulf countries, Egypt, and increasing supplies to neighboring countries.
