The IGC expects global wheat production for 2025/26 to be 830 million tons, higher than the previous month's forecast of 827 million tons and also higher than the 799 million tons for 2024/25 (last month's forecast was 800 million tons).
The IGC has raised its forecast for Argentina's wheat production by 1.3 million tons to 23.5 million tons; Australia's wheat production is expected to increase by 1.3 million tons to 35.1 million tons; Kazakhstan's wheat production has been raised by 2.1 million tons to 19.1 million tons; and the EU's wheat production has been increased by 300,000 tons to 142.6 million tons.
Global wheat consumption for 2025/26 is expected to be 819 million tons, lower than the previous forecast of 820 million tons, but still higher than last year's 809 million tons (last month's forecast was 807 million tons).
Global wheat ending stocks are estimated at 275 million tons, unchanged from the previous forecast; last year's ending stocks have been reduced by 300,000 tons from last month's forecast of 267 million tons to 264 million tons.
