Spain's region of Murcia exports 58% of the production of peppers, which represents 12.5% of the national total

The Region of Murcia exported 58 percent of the 197,436 tons of peppers it produced last year, which represents 12.5 percent of the national total destined for international markets, and the main countries where it is marketed are Germany (31.1 percent), France (20.3 percent) and Italy (14.1 percent). This was stated by the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Antonio Luengo, during the presentation of the II Gastronomic Day of the Pepper, an act in which he was accompanied by the mayor of the town, José Miguel Luengo.
