(Jeonju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jin-bang = The Rural Development Administration announced on the 30th that it has selected three volumes for the "2025 Excellent Rural Development Publications."

The grand prize was awarded to "Collection of Rice Flour Confectionery and Baking Recipes," published by the RDA's Food Industry Technology Team. This book, which introduces over 70 recipes for bread and pastries using rice flour (Baromi 2) as the main ingredient, received high praise.

The excellence award went to "2024 Q&A with On-site Experts in the Food Sector," published by the Technology Support Division of the National Institute of Crop Science. The encouragement award was given to "Playing Little Farmer," published by the Urban Agriculture Division of the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science.

The RDA selects outstanding rural development publications every two years to encourage the writing activities of rural development officials and to discover excellent content that the public can easily utilize.

This year, over 1,200 books published by rural development officials, including those from the RDA and its affiliated organizations and agricultural technology institutes across the country, were submitted for the competition.

The selected books can be found on the Agricultural Science Library website (www.lib.rda.go.kr).

Lee Sang-ho, the RDA's Planning and Coordination Officer, said, "Many diverse publications that provide useful information to field experts, farmers, and students interested in agriculture and rural areas were submitted for this year's competition." He added, "In addition to the excellent publications, we encourage everyone to view various agricultural science books through the Agricultural Science Library website."
