[Nongsuchuksan Newspaper=Reporter Park Nara] The Chungnam Agricultural Technology Institute (Director Kim Young) held a field evaluation meeting for the new rice variety 'Jikimi' for institutional catering, attended by around 20 people including related industrial companies, national research and guidance organizations, and farmers, at the rice test cultivation site of Hyundai Seosan Farm on the 16th. This evaluation was organized to comprehensively review the growth characteristics, rice taste preference, and cultivation stability of 'Jikimi', a specialized variety in Chungnam, and to explore the possibility of future dissemination to farms and expansion of the public catering market. 'Jikimi' has an amylose content of 10% or less, which allows it to produce a chewiness and shine comparable to that of a pressure cooker even in a steam pot, which is commonly used in institutional catering.
