The soybean harvest in Brazil will reach a record 178 million tons - Conab

Brazilian farmers are expected to harvest a record 177.64 million tons of soybeans in the 2025/26 season, virtually matching last month's forecast but about 6 million tons higher than the previous year, agricultural agency Conab reported on Tuesday. Conab reported an expected increase in the area planted with oilseeds by 3.6% to 49 million hectares (121.081 million acres) and noted that Brazil's exports could exceed 112 million tons in the new marketing year, as the U.S. is expected to reduce its own soybean exports amid the trade war with China. According to Conab, soybean farmers in the state of Parana are the most advanced in planting, with 31% of the areas already sown, followed by Brazil's leading agricultural state, Mato Grosso, where 18.9% of the fields have already been sown. "In most regions, the period of sowing has already ended, and farmers are waiting for the resumption of rains, which should start in the second half of October," said Conab.
