In other words: until that year there were only 7,857 hectares and, since then, 51,761 more hectares have been added, 86% of the entire surface. The latest analysis by the Ministry of Agriculture, (with data from the CAP and the Regepa farm registry), notes specifically 59,618 hectares in Spain until 2021, 73% rainfed and the rest irrigated. The recent Esyrce survey of the Ministry, dated February 2, does include last year and raises the figure to 66,467 hectares (although this statistic usually falls short of the most representative data from PAC and Regepa).
