Red meat prices in the market remained stable on September 11, 2022, with the price of Kendos roast at 170 pounds per kilo. The stability is attributed to increased productivity from state livestock projects and the large availability of meat in markets. The Ministry of Agriculture is also selling meat at reduced prices. The price of municipal meat varies, with small candos and lamb meat sold at 135 and 125 pounds per kilo respectively, imported meat at 95 pounds per kilo, minced meat at 90 pounds, and liver at 80 pounds per kilo. Artificial insemination has played a role in improving livestock breeds, contributing to 60% of red meat production.
