In 2022, EU countries produced nearly 34.3 billion liters of beer with alcohol, marking a 7% increase compared to 2021 and reaching pre-pandemic levels. Additionally, 1.6 billion liters of alcohol-free or low-alcohol beer were produced, with no change from 2021. Germany was the largest producer, accounting for over 22% of total EU production, while the Netherlands remained the leading exporter of alcohol-containing beer, exporting 2.6 billion liters, representing 27% of total EU beer exports.
