The USDA has lowered the forecast for this year's corn harvest in Ukraine to 29 million tons.

The forecast for the corn harvest in Ukraine for the 2025/26 MY has been reduced by 3 million tons to 29 million tons. The export estimate for Ukraine has also been reduced to 23 million tons (-1.5 million tons), with ending stocks at 0.85 million tons (-0.7 million tons). This is stated in the report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for December. It noted that the reduction in grain production is due to a decrease in acreage, as well as a slowdown in the harvest campaign due to rainfall in key areas. However, Ukrainian analysts do not agree with these figures. "The forecast for production in Ukraine has been reduced by 3 million tons, but we do not share this opinion. We maintain the forecast at 31.6, while USDA has it at 29 million tons," noted analysts from Barva Invest.
