A collaborative project aimed at restoring 16,200 hectares of the Fuerte Mayo region in Sonora, Mexico, has been launched by the elected municipal presidents of Álamos, Huatabampo, and Navojoa, and representatives of Sader, Conagua, and Semarnat. This initiative, part of the federal program 'Sembrando Vida', will be used for agave production and will advantage 14 ejidos in the area. The mayors expressed optimism for the project's potential to positively impact the local community and agricultural sector. The project was well-received, with an emphasis on the therapeutic and medicinal benefits of agave and plans to provide inputs, seeds, and training to local families for successful production.
