Prices for tomatoes in Ukraine have significantly dropped, with some varieties now costing as little as 20 hryvnias (0.49 US dollars) per kilogram, down from 50-80 hryvnias (1.21-1.94 US dollars) just a week ago. This decrease is due to favorable weather conditions allowing for resumed harvesting of ground tomatoes, despite high demand due to quality issues from hot, dry weather. As a result, domestic tomato prices are 25% higher than last year. In contrast, cucumber prices have doubled, with some sellers charging up to 65 hryvnias (1.65 US dollars) per kilogram. Overall, fruit and vegetable prices in Ukraine vary greatly due to production levels and weather conditions.
