Tomatoes are becoming cheaper in Ukraine

On the Ukrainian market, there is a steady decrease in the price of tomatoes, which is especially noticeable in comparison with the last week of July 2024. At that time, prices for tomatoes ranged from 50 to 80 hryvnias in supermarkets and from 50 hryvnias in markets. This was reported by the analysts of the EastFruit project. Nowadays, juicy fresh tomatoes of various varieties can be found at a price from 20 to 50 hryvnias (equivalent to 0.49-0.97 US dollars). The situation has changed due to the stabilization of the weather in many areas, which allowed to resume the campaign for harvesting ground tomatoes. Despite the fact that tomatoes are harvested in almost all regions of Ukraine, the demand for these products remains at a low level due to unsatisfactory quality indicators.
