Turkish agricultural producers are expected to harvest approximately 2 million tons of sunflower seeds by the end of the 2022/23 season, a 400 thousand ton increase from the previous year, according to consulting agency Sunseedman. Despite this increase in domestic production, Turkey's sunflower seed purchases from abroad are projected to double, reaching 750 thousand tons, while imports of sunflower oil are expected to decrease to 805 thousand tons from 1 million tons due to the high domestic production of sunflower seeds. Additionally, sunflower oil exports from Turkey could see a 34% increase, reaching 650 thousand tons.
