Udo Island's 114 hectares of peanuts certified with GAP... competitiveness in processed food also 'on the rise'

Jeju City announced that Udo Island peanuts have recently obtained a large-scale Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification. According to the city, the scale of this GAP certification is a total of 79 farms and 114 hectares, which corresponds to approximately 77% of the total peanut cultivation area on Udo Island. This is a rare achievement in a single crop area, and it is expected that Udo Island peanuts will be supplied to consumers as safer food based on the GAP certification in the future. Currently, Udo Island peanuts have developed beyond simple raw material production into various processed foods such as peanut ice cream, peanut makgeolli, and peanut snacks, establishing themselves as a representative specialty brand of the Udo Island region.
