The Union of Unions (UdU) of Farmers and Livestock Breeders has demanded that the commercial relationship with the horticultural products from Western Sahara be handled with the Saharawi people and not with Morocco. "It cannot be that Europe continues to sell to its farmers with such brazenness, ignoring rulings and relying on we-know-not-what maneuvers to get away with it," it has remarked. In light of the objections presented to the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2429 of the Commission of 3 October 2025 by the European People's Party regarding the mandatory indication of the origin of fresh fruits and vegetables originating from the non-autonomous territory of Western Sahara, which will be voted on today, Wednesday, UdU urges Members of the European Parliament to vote in favor so that issues regarding trade agreements that refer to the Saharawi people are handled with them and the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 4 October 2024 is complied with.
