Vietnam's seafood exports experienced steady growth in June 2022, generating over $1 billion in revenue, which is a 23% increase compared to the same period last year. The second quarter saw exports surpass $3.2 billion, marking a 36% increase from the previous year, while the first half of 2022 reached nearly $5.8 billion, a 40% increase from the first half of 2021. Shrimp remained the top export, bringing in over $2.3 billion, followed by pangasius and tuna. Pangasius exports saw a significant increase due to white fish shortages in the EU, US, and UK markets. Tuna exports also increased, particularly to the US, and there was a notable growth in squid and octopus exports. Overall, seafood exports experienced substantial growth in the first half of 2022.
