Ukraine saw a significant increase in revenue from cattle exports in September 2024, with a 41% rise compared to the same month the previous year and a 63% increase compared to August 2024, primarily to Lebanon and to a lesser extent, Jordan. Despite this, overall cattle exports from January to September 2024 saw a decrease of 41% in volume and 22% in revenue.
Additionally, Ukraine experienced a 56% increase in sales of fresh or chilled beef in August and a 21% increase in September compared to the same periods in 2023, with the majority of these exports going to Moldova. There was also a notable increase in imports of chilled beef in September, along with a decrease in imports of frozen beef, with the majority of these imports coming from the EU, Germany, and Ireland, as well as the USA and Japan. The foreign trade balance for cattle and beef in September was positive, with a revenue of $8.63 million.
