The "Danube Soya" association and Ukraine's Ministry of Agriculture are working to establish a supply chain for domestic soybeans to the EU. This plan is part of the 'Protein Partnership' project, which aims to increase the production of non-GM soybeans in countries like Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, and Ukraine. The war has potentially increased soybean cultivation in Ukraine, as it is a profitable and easy-to-grow crop. From September 2022, there has been a gradual increase in soybean purchase prices in Ukraine. It is anticipated that at least 1.2 million hectares will be sown with soybeans in 2023.
