The National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine "Ukrtsukor" has summed up the 2024/25 season, which ended on August 31. According to the association, about 1.8 million tons of sugar were produced in Ukraine, which is almost at the level of the previous season. The production campaign involved 28 factories, with one more operating outside the association. Sugar exports for the season amounted to 580 thousand tons, which is 32% of the total production volume. This is 16% less than in the 2023/24 MY, when 692 thousand tons were exported. The main destinations for the shipments were countries of the global market—83% of the exports, while only 17% went to the EU. For comparison, the EU share was 77% in the previous season. Among the key importers of Ukrainian sugar are Turkey (14%), Libya (10%), North Macedonia (8%), Lebanon, and Somalia (5% each).
