Uncultivated agricultural lands in Tekirdağ are being leased out.

Under the new practice implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the leasing process was carried out for two parcels in Bulgur Mahallesi, Şarköy district of Tekirdağ. Law No. 7442, which amended Article 8/K of Law No. 5403 on Soil Protection and Land Use, entered into force on April 5, 2023, after being published in the Official Gazette. The regulation aims to economically benefit the country by allowing the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to lease agricultural lands that have not been cultivated for two consecutive years and are owned by individuals or legal entities. In line with this, the "Regulation on the Agricultural Leasing of Uncultivated Agricultural Lands" entered into force on August 22, 2024.
