Argentina's beef exports experienced the highest volume in the last 57 years from January to September 2024, reaching 699,987 tons and valued at $2,122 million. This success is attributed to the removal of export restrictions and an increase in shipment volumes. The largest buyer, China, accounted for about 70% of the total shipments. The lifting of restrictions has led to more authorized plants and markets, and there is no restriction on beef shipments for the first year in a long time. However, a 6.75% withholding still exists. The opening of beef and sweet citrus fruit exports to Ecuador, enabled by a joint effort between Argentina and Ecuador, is part of this positive trend.
