The African Development Bank, in collaboration with the FAO and the International Consultative Group on Agricultural Research, has released digital agricultural profiles of Côte d'Ivoire, Rwanda, and South Africa. The report highlights the potential of technology and digitization to enhance African agriculture, despite challenges. In Côte d'Ivoire, which has made significant strides in digital accessibility, the cost of internet remains high, limiting its use in agriculture. However, the country is exploring various digital solutions in agriculture, including Lôr Bouôr, mAgri49, WeFly Agri, and Djori, with mobile money proving particularly useful in rural areas. Despite some challenges like lack of electricity and limited digital literacy, the report shows that many cocoa farmers use mobile money.
