Global pollock production is projected to rise by 12% in 2024, led by a significant increase in Russia's quota to over 2 million tons and a slight increase in the U.S. quota to 1.48 million tons. The production of value-added products like surimi and deepskin fish fillets is also set to grow. However, the U.S. has seen a drop in imports of frozen pollock and pollock fillets. Following the ban on Russian raw seafood imports, it is anticipated that third-party processing countries, primarily China, will aim for the European market, the largest market for pollock fillets globally.
